MOBILE, Ala.– Florida tight end Jake McGee and Missouri offensive lineman Connor McGovern have been shut down for the week with hamstring injuries at the Senior Bowl. McGee will stick around Wednesday night to interview with teams, while McGovern left Mobile after talking with teams Tuesday night.
McGee was a sixth-year senior with the Gators this past season and finished second on the team with 41 receptions for 381 yards. He began his career at Virginia, then moved on to Florida as a graduate transfer in 2015. But he suffered a broken leg in the first game of the ’15 season and received a sixth season of eligibility.
McGovern, a North Dakota native, was a three-year starter for the Tigers and a member of two SEC East championship teams.
Both are considered probable late-round selections. While lacking top-end speed, McGee is a reliable target with good hands and is a willing blocker. McGovern played left tackle for Mizzou this past season after moving from guard. He is best-suited to play the interior in the NFL.
