It’s never too early to start getting ready for homecoming. Even though the 2017 season’s still months away, teams across the SEC already have designated their dates for the annual festivities.
The exception is Texas A&M, unique among the conference’s programs (and rare among college football teams in general) in not holding an annual homecoming celebration.
As for the remaining SEC schools, nine of the 13 homecoming games will be played in October, while two will be played in September and two in November. The earliest game will be held on Sept. 16 and the latest will be held on Nov. 4 (twice).
And while homecoming games often tend to be played against smaller schools outside of the SEC with weaker football programs, eight of the 13 games will be played against an SEC opponent. Missouri and Vanderbilt, two of the SEC’s worst teams last season, each will be a school’s homecoming on two separate occasions.
Here’s a list of each SEC team’s 2017 homecoming date and opponent for the 2017 season:
Alabama: October 14 vs. Arkansas
Arkansas: November 4 vs. Coastal Carolina
Auburn: September 16 vs. Mercer
