Alabama quarterback a 2018 Heisman favorite (that’s Tua Tagovailoa, by the way)

The 2018 Heisman Trophy odds have been released by Bovada and Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is one of the top four odds-on favorites to win the trophy.

Technically, that’s Alabama backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

While Tagovailoa hasn’t officially been named the starter for Alabama for the 2018 season, many expect the sophomore-to-be to get the nod over Jalen Hurts after taking over for Hurts in the second half of the national championship game and rallying the Tide from a 13-0 deficit to a wild 26-23 overtime win over Georgia.

Tagovailoa went 14-of-24 for 166 yards and three touchdowns; the final TD came on a 41-yard pass on second-and-26 on Alabama’s second play of overtime to fellow true freshman DeVonta Smith.

Some speculate that Hurts will transfer, but there has been no official word. The oddsmakers obviously have an idea: Hurts was not listed by Bovada as a Heisman finalist on their opening odds list.
