The skinny: LSU seems to have resurrected its season with its victory last week in Gainesville, but this week’s opponent is a lot better than the Gators. It’s tough to run on Auburn, and that is truly bad news for LSU, which relies on the run because its passing attack is horrible. Auburn DC Kevin Steele will do everything he can to force LSU QB Danny Etling to beat him because Etling is ill-equipped to do so. Auburn’s offensive line has been carving out huge holes for Kerryon Johnson, and it has to worry LSU defensive coaches that Florida was relatively effective on the ground last week. Unlike Florida, Auburn can throw the ball, too, and Jarrett Stidham has played well of late. One advantage for LSU might be that it has won 19 consecutive home games in October. And there’s this: The home team has won 15 of the past 17 in the series.
