Four-star running back Dameon Pierce has committed to Alabama, AL.com reported Friday.
Pierce, a class of 2018 prospect from Bainbridge High School in Bainbridge, Georgia, appears to have confirmed his commitment to the Crimson Tide in his Twitter bio.
The 5-foot-11, 205-pound Pierce is ranked as the No. 7 running back in the nation and the No. 7 prospect overall in the state of Georgia, according to 247Sports Composite.
Pierce’s commitment to Alabama comes just under a month after attending a camp at Georgia, which was viewed as the recruit’s other top school. The Crimson Tide offered him on May 20.
In addition to Alabama and Georgia, Pierce also holds offers from 15 other schools, including Auburn, Florida and South Carolina.
Pierce is Alabama’s second commitment in the 2018 class, joining four-star tight end Malcolm Epps, who committed in February. Five-star running back Najee Harris, the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect, and four-star running back Brian Robinson from Tuscaloosa are both committed as members of the Crimson Tide’s 2017 class.
As a sophomore at Bainbridge last season, Pierce rushed for 2,060 yards and 33 touchdowns on 308 carries.
New Alabama defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley is Pierce’s primary recruiter, and running backs coach Burton Burns is his secondary recruiter.
