Matt Luke and the Rebels are flat out getting things done on the recruiting trail. Ole Miss currently has the No. 1 class in America for the 2019 recruiting cycle and a big part of the Rebels class is four-star, duel-threat quarterback Grant Tisdale.
GN caught up with Tisdale to talk about his commitment to Ole Miss, his excitement about playing in the SEC, other prospects he hopes to bring with him to Oxford and much more.
“When me and my family went down there, we saw everything we needed to see,” Tisdale told GN regarding his commitment to Ole Miss. “Ole Miss checked all the boxes and I just felt like Ole Miss was the place for me to be.”
Tisdale, (6-feet-1, 204 pounds) from Allen, (Texas.) High is considered to be among the top-10 duel-threat quarterbacks in the country and a top-350 overall prospect nationally for the 2019 class.
Tisdale was asked if he ever thinks about how highly he is regarded nationally.
“No, because once you get to college it’s a clean slate,” he said. “It’s a blessing for people to think of me so highly, but once you go to college it’s a fresh start. So, I don’t pay attention to it too much.”
As for how Tisdale would describe his game from the quarterback position.
“I’m a duel-threat quarterback that can run and throw, but what I really pride myself on is winning,” he said. “I will do whatever it takes to win, whether that’s throwing the ball 40 times a game, or running it 40 times a game. I consider myself a winner and that’s what I pride my game on.”
Tisdale is looking forward to the chance to play against the competition that he will see every week in the SEC.
“It’s going to be fun to be able to play against the top competition in the country by playing in the best conference,” he said. “Playing against those teams will only improve my game and make me the best player I can be. You also can’t let the little things slide against those teams and you have to bring it, so I’m excited for the opportunity.”
Tisdale says he wants to bring some more Texas prospects with him to Oxford.
