I’d like to Open My Recruiting process back up by formally de-committing from The University of Alabama,” Pierce wrote. “After Recent conversation with my mom and close friends, we think this is the best way to go in terms of my future. With That Being Said, I would like To Thank Alabama for giving me an opportunity most athletes dream of, but like I said before I am decommiting (sic) and Opening Up my Recruiting process once more.”
Pierce (5 feet 11, 205 pounds), from Bainbridge (Ga.) High, had committed to the Tide last July. He is considered one of the top-five running backs nationally as well as a top-20 prospect in the state of Georgia in this recruiting cycle.
Pierce took an unofficial visit to Georgia last month and to Florida in March. He also attended Florida State’s junior day in February.
Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Georgia are among the schools that have offered.
Alabama now has two commitments in its 2018 class.
