9 SEC players seen as 1st-round picks in this NFL mock draft

The latest mock draft by analyst Dane Brugler of CBSSports.com has nine SEC players going in the first round.

He has the usual trio of from Alabama and Ole Miss going in his first round; he also has two defensive backs from Florida, including safety Keanu Neal.

Brugler writes that Neal is a perfect fit for the Carolina Panthers: “With Roman Harper no longer on the roster, the Panthers are in the market for a strong safety. Neal is known for his punishing tackles, but he also has the athletic upside to develop in coverage.”

SEC players projected to be first-round picks by Brugler

1. LT Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss – Tennessee Titans
9. CB Vernon Hargreaves III, Florida – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
12. DT A’Shawn Robinson, Alabama – New Orleans Saints
19. WR Laquon Treadwell, Ole Miss – Buffalo Bills
21. ILB Reggie Ragland, Alabama – Washington Redskins
27. DT Jarran Reed, Alabama – Green Bay Packers
