Nick Saban always keeps the depth chart stocked at Alabama, but that doesn’t mean the Tide can lose its top players without taking a hit.
Gridiron Now examines the 10 players the Crimson Tide can least afford to lose when the 2017 season rolls around.
10. P JK Scott
The Particulars: 6 feet 6, 210 pounds, senior
Why he’s here: It’s not often that a punter is considered one of the most valuable players on a football team that many presume will be a national title contender. Then again, it is not often that a punter has the capability to flip field position in a game as often as Scott does with his right leg. Scott, a Denver native, was a Ray Guy finalist as a true freshman in 2014 after averaging 48 yards per punt, but surprisingly was not even a semifinalist last season despite averaging 47.2 yards per boot.
