3-star Louisiana WR/SEC target Al’dontre Davis: ‘I’m a playmaker’

A busy month is coming for three-star wide receiver Al’dontre Davis, who is considering three SEC schools.

Davis (6 feet 0, 190 pounds) starred for Lutcher (La.) High, which is about 50 miles west of New Orleans. Davis, considered one of the top-25 prospects in Louisiana, hopes to visit three SEC schools before National Signing Day.

“I will be visiting Mississippi State on January 20 and Texas A&M on January 27,” Davis told GN. “I’m still trying to find dates to visit both Tennessee and Memphis.”

Lutcher High is the prep alma mater of former LSU standout and current Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

Davis is clear in what he is looking for in a college destination.

“I want to play, start early, play for three years, get my education and head to the league for my family,” Davis said. “I just want to go somewhere where I can get in early and contribute to the team.”

Davis is appreciative of this experience and chance to play college football.

“I want to thank God for every moment; I’ve cherished it,” he said. “I’m really humbled and blessed that he gave me the talent.”

Asked to describe his game, Davis was succinct.

“I’m a playmaker, and I go get the ball,” Davis said. “I have very strong hands and a big body, so I’m hard to tackle.”

Davis expects to make his decision after his official visits have concluded.
