Former Tennessee football player Anthony Anderson has landed a new coaching gig.

Anderson, who played wide receiver and defensive back for the Vols from 2008-11, was hired as the girls basketball coach at his alma mater, Austin-East High in Knoxville.

Anderson currently coaches Austin-East’s track team alongside his father, Sam, a four-time Tennessee High school football coach of the year.

Anderson appeared in 39 games during his college career, with the majority of his playing time coming on special teams.

Anderson graduated from Austin-East in 2007 and was a three-year starter on both offense and defense. He replaces Gwen Jackson, a former Lady Vol basketball player, who spent the past five seasons as Austin-East’s coach.
