Auburn’s John Franklin III is working hard this offseason. The former JUCO transfer has taken reps at both quarterback and wide receiver this spring leading up to his final year of eligibility.

Though he struggled during limited action at quarterback in 2016, Franklin does posses a natural athletic ability that could provide a spark to Auburn’s offense. Those skills were on display during a video he shared via Twitter on Wednesday, which showed highlights from his junior season, as well as some of his offseason workouts with Fit Factory in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Franklin included the hashtag “Slash 2.0,” an obvious nod to former Colorado and NFL quarterback Kordell Stewart, who also excelled at multiple other positions including wide receiver.

The former three-star JUCO prospect threw for 204 yards and a touchdown on 14-of-26 passing and rushed for 430 yards and two scores on 46 attempts last season. He also caught one pass for negative-3 yards, which is sure to improve with an expanded role at wide receiver.
