Las Vegas oddsmakers now believe Auburn can make a serious run at winning the 2017 College Football Playoff.

After Saturday’s 40-17 win over Georgia, the Tigers now have 10-1 odds to win the Playoff. They had been 40-1.

Georgia fell, but not too far. The Bulldogs are 12-1 after going into Saturday’s game at 4-1.

Auburn would see its odds go even lower if it can beat Alabama in the Iron Bowl. That matchup will be played at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Georgia has a home game against Kentucky and Georgia Tech on the road to end the regular season. They also will take on the Tigers or Crimson Tide in the SEC championship game.

Oklahoma, Miami and Ohio State also made jumps in the odds. The Sooners are 4-1, the Hurricanes are 8-1 and the Buckeyes are at 16-1. OU’s odds are behind only Alabama, which is 10-11.

Of interest: A week ago, Ohio State was at 75-1.

TCU, Notre Dame, Penn State, Oklahoma State and Michigan State are off the board.
