Most highly rated prospects at this point in the recruiting process are weighing their options, but three-star tight end Chase Rogers simply is looking for options.

“There are a lot of schools out there that don’t have any tight ends, or they have one and they’re trying to get two, and I guess my name is just not getting out there to them,” Rogers told GN.

Rogers (6 feet 3, 238 pounds) attends Bay St. Louis (Miss.) St. Stanislaus. He is one of the top 30 tight ends nationally and a top-15 overall prospect in Mississippi. He is high school teammates with four-star LSU quarterback commit Myles Brennan.

Rogers was a one-time Tennessee commit, but he decommitted from the Volunteers in mid-November.

“I was losing contact with the coaches and I could feel some unsureness there in my head and with them,” Rogers said. “Just with the loss of contact and some other stuff going on behind the scenes with the Jalen Hurd transfer and seeing some other commits dropping off and not knowing whether Coach (Butch) Jones was going to be there my full four years or not.”

Rogers took to his Twitter account Monday to make sure colleges knew he was wide open.

“I tweeted that so people retweet it and hopefully some coaches see it,” he said.

Rogers says he has had discussions with SEC schools, but nothing heavily.

“I’ve talked to Mississippi State here and there and Ole Miss here and there,” he said.
