Dan Mullen raids Mississippi State recruiting class again, this time, for OL Griffin McDowell

Leesberg (GA) Lee County offensive lineman Griffin McDowell flipped his commitment Tuesday night from Mississippi State to Florida.

Last month, Dan Mullen also pilfered the recruiting class of his former school, flipping the top prep kicker in the nation, Evan McPherson.

“I’ve decided to commit to Florida,” McDowell told 247Sports. “I felt a lot more comfortable there and it’s closer to home. I just had a better connection with the coaches.”

McDowell took an official visit to Florida this past weekend after receiving an offer from the Gators the week prior. The 6-foot-4, 280-pounder had limited Power 5 offers, Kansas and Indiana the only other schools joining Mississippi State and Florida.

McDowell will play center in Gainesville.

The Gators continue to have the 17th ranked class nationally and 5th best class in the SEC according to 247 Sports.
