Nick Saban continues to build up coaching depth on his football staff, as former Ole Miss co-offensive coordinator Dan Werner reportedly has been hired as an offensive analyst.

Werner was dismissed by Hugh Freeze after the 2016 season. He was the Rebels’ co-OC/quarterbacks coach from from 2012-16.
In addition to coaching at Ole Miss, Werner also has coached at Miami, Louisiana Tech, UNLV and FCS member Murray State.
Alabama recently hired former Los Angeles Rams quarterback coach Chris Weinke as an offensive analyst.
Werner’s recent background with dual-threat quarterbacks at Ole Miss conceivably could be put to use working with Alabama sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Alabama had Steve Sarkisian and Mike Locksley in offensive analyst roles last season. Locksley now serves as the Tide’s co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach, while Sarkisian was promoted to offensive coordinator before leaving for the same job with the Atlanta Falcons.
