Four-star defensive tackle D’Andre Litaker has offers from 10 SEC programs and loves to squash quarterbacks.

“I’m thankful for all the schools that are interested in me,” Litaker told GN. “Right now, I’m in the process of picking a favorite school. I do have a lot of interest from schools.

“South Carolina is showing a lot of interest. Also, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Ole Miss, LSU and Memphis. Those schools are showing a lot of interest and trying to get me to come to their campus and come check them out.”

Litaker (6 feet 2, 302 pounds), from Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Riverdale, is among the top 20 defensive tackle recruits in the country and a top-200 prospect overall. As with any true defensive tackle, Litaker does not have a high opinion of offensive lineman.

“I hate if you’re an offensive lineman, to be honest,” Litaker said, laughing. “When I’m down, I can tell what the offensive players are doing. I look at how their stance is and how much weight they have on their hands and I just go off that.

“I can either pass rush you and knock you off the ball or use my speed to get around you. Once I get past you, I feel sorry for the quarterback.”

Litaker knows exactly what he is looking for in a college of choice.

“I just want to evaluate how the coaches are towards their players,” Litaker said. “I want to see if they really care about them and see if they know what they are talking about.

“I want to major in criminal justice, and I want to see how I will live my life when football season is over with.”

Litaker says he is in no hurry to make a decision.

“I feel like when I’m ready and when it’s time to do it, I’ll do it. I don’t want to have a set date when I’m going to commit,” he said. “I want to think about it and talk to my family about it and just go with it. I want to make sure it’s the right thing in what I want to do.”

Litaker plans to be in Knoxville for Tennessee’s spring game this weekend.
