Draft

Dave Doeren expects matured Will Richardson to succeed with Jaguars

“For me to be able to sit in that room with Bradley (Chubb) and see that elation in one moment, so many years of hard work for him and to be able to see the absolute joy in his families faces and then to be able to talk to the other guys, we had seven players drafted, it is a blessing.

“To know that you a part of changing lives and giving them the avenue and obviously, they did their part in getting there, I’m very proud of those young men.”

Certainly the narrative surrounding the ACC has changed over the past few seasons. ACC football, which used to be the brunt of jokes, is now considered to be one of the best conferences in college football.

“From top to bottom there is no easy outs and there is great talent,” Doeren said. “Us along with the SEC have been the top-two conferences in the NFL draft for four or five years straight. Every week you are playing against some incredible young men and the coaches that go along with them in this league are really good.

“There is a lot of diversity that you see week in and week out so you have to be flexible with your systems in order to compete in it.”
