Miami coach Mark Richt added another piece to his secondary for 2017 when cornerback Dee Delaney, a FCS All-American at The Citadel, announced that he is heading to the Hurricanes as a graduate transfer in a letter posted online by the school.

Delaney (6 feet 1, 190 pounds) should be expected to start for UM. He had six interceptions last season after having five as a sophomore. Delaney has pro potential.

UM lost both starting cornerbacks from 2016.

“The pursuit of Dee from one of the most visible and historic programs in college football is a testament to his work ethic and development over the last four years at The Citadel,” Bulldogs coach Brent Thompson said in a statement. “We were supportive of Dee while he came to this difficult decision, and we will be cheering for him next season.”
