The words that strike terror into the hearts of Crimson Tide fans: NFL. Hires. Former. Alabama. Head. Coach.
But before fans go into full panic mode, Nick Saban isn’t going back to the NFL.
The NFL’s New York Giants are hiring Mike Shula, Saban’s predecessor, as their offensive coordinator, as reported by NFL.com.
NYG have hired Mike Shula as OC. Official announcement later today. Per sources. #NYG

Shula had been offensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers.
For Alabama fans, Shula is mostly associated with his four-year tenure of limited success in Tuscaloosa, with a 26-23 record (including games that subsequently were vacated because of NCAA sanctions).
Saban, who previously left a national championship program at LSU for an NFL job with the Miami Dolphins a dozen years ago, isn’t going anywhere.
