LSU fans aren’t the only ones disappointed with Arden Key’s 2017 season: Some NFL executives believe Key’s play has taken him from the draft’s top five to a spot outside the first round.

Key is getting a less-than-coveted draft-day ranking as one of the most polarizing players in the draft, as reported by Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com.

Jeremiah, a former NFL scout, said he’s impressed with Key’s ability, but that he seems to be underachieving because of stretches when he’s “lethargic and blends into the scenery.”

A league executive promised anonymity said that his staff still was trying to come to a consensus on Key – was he the player who entered 2017 with “huge grades” or the one whose stock “plummeted” during the season?

Key missed several games with a combination of shoulder, finger and knee injuries. He finished the season with four sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss, a sharp decline from his 12-sack campaign of 2016.
