Auburn wide receivers coach Kodi Burns doesn’t appear to be the biggest fan of drone racing.

So in turn, the Drone Racing League fired back.

After Burns implied on Twitter this past week that he would rather have football on television than drone racing, the official Drone Racing League Twitter account replied to his tweet in a sarcastic manner.

“Drone racing is currently on ESPN… Hurry up football season! #WDE!!!,” Burns wrote.

“If we were 8-5 last season we’d be rushing to get back too,” the Drone Racing League wrote in its response.

The Drone Racing League found Burns’ tweet only seven minutes after he sent it, even though the account itself was not directly mentioned in his tweet.

While 8-5 is a decent record and it was enough to get Auburn to earn a Sugar Bowl berth, the season was widely seen as underwhelming.

Auburn, though, is expected to possibly overthrow Alabama as SEC West champions this season.

Burns, a former Auburn quarterback and wide receiver, enters his second season as the Tigers’ wide receivers coach this fall. He also serves as co-offensive coordinator.
