Former Michigan wide receiver Brian Cole has transferred to Kentucky.
Cole was a four-star recruit in 2015 and was the highest-ranked member of Jim Harbaugh’s first signing class with the Wolverines.
His father told mlive.com that Cole — who played in two games in 2015 as a true freshman receiver before being injured and missing the rest of the season — was headed to UK. Cole, who was released from his scholarship last month, will have to sit out the 2016 season and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in 2017.
While Cole played wide receiver early in the ’15 season, the Wolverines’ staff moved him to safety during bowl practices.
