Fearless Prediction: Can Vols beat Kentucky in Knoxville?

Tennessee players celebrate

The Fearless Prediction doesn’t know what to make of this game. On one hand, Kentucky has had decades of defeats in Knoxville, and you might wonder about the motivation of the Cats following their elimination from the SEC title chase. On the other hand, the Vols offense has regressed, starting with the second half of the South Carolina game.

Here’s the deal. Tennessee has been through A LOT over the past ten years. I wrote an entire book on the subject. But even through all their trials and tribulations, some of the worst teams in Vols history have still gone 8-2 against Kentucky. The Wildcats won last year in a game Tennessee dominated. I’m sure there is a parallel universe in which Kentucky beats Tennessee two straight years, but in this universe, I’m banking on history meaning something.

Fearless Prediction time…

Tennessee 5–Kentucky 4.
