Notables returning: Feleipe Franks, sophomore; Luke Del Rio, senior; Kyle Trask, sophomore; Jake Allen, redshirt freshman.
Outlook: Not good. Franks is a rare athlete, but a deeply flawed player. Could he get there? Yes, but it would take a superb coaching job to develop him into a good player by next September. Del Rio is a heady player more suited to be a backup than a starter at Florida. He’s also fragile. We know nothing about Trask and Allen, as both have been injured this season. If highly touted commit Matt Corral does sign with the Gators, the new coach could elect to take his lumps in Year One with a true freshman quarterback hoping for big dividends in his second and third year.
Notables returning: Malik Davis, sophomore; Lamical Perine, junior; Adarius Lemons, sophomore.
Outlook: Depth is lacking, but Davis and Perine are an outstanding combo. Davis could miss spring practice after a knee injury last month, but he looked spectacular. Perine is a good No. 2 back. The new coach needs to sign at least two backs in this class.
Notables returning: Tyrie Cleveland, junior; Kadarius Toney, sophomore; Josh Hammond, junior; Freddie Swain, junior; Dre Massey, senior; Daquon Green, redshirt freshman; James Robinson, redshirt freshman.
Outlook: Promising. Cleveland and Toney could be stars in any system and should flourish in what should be a much better designed offensive scheme. The depth is solid, not great.
Notables returning: C’yontai Lewis, senior; Moral Stephens, senior; Kalif Jackson, junior; Kemore Gamble, redshirt freshman.
Outlook: If Florida moves more to a spread attack, this position could be de-emphasized. That would be smart. There’s nothing here to get excited about. Gamble looked good in spring, but hasn’t played this fall.
Notables returning: T Jawaan Taylor, junior; G Brett Heggie, sophomore; C T.J. McCoy, junior; G/C Tyler Jordan, senior; G Antonio Riles, senior; G Fred Johnson, senior; T/G Andrew Mike, senior; G/T Kavaris Harkless, senior; T Stone Forsythe, sophomore; T Jean DeLance, sophomore; T/G T.J. Moore, redshirt freshman; G Nick Buchanan, junior.
Outlook: Taylor and Heggie are quality players, while McCoy, Jordan, Riles and Johnson provide experience and decent play. DeLance is a touted transfer from Texas, and Moore was a four-star recruit. This won’t be close to the total rebuild that Jim McElwain was left by Will Muschamp.
