Florida has been the hottest team in the country on the recruiting trail over the past week, with six recent high-profile commitments for its 2018 class.

GN takes a look at the prospects who have committed to Florida recently.

WR JaMarr Chase

The skinny: Chase (6 feet 1, 195 pounds), from Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel in the New Orleans suburbs, committed to the Gators on Sunday. Chase, a four-star talent, is among the top 25 wide receivers in the country and a top-105 overall recruit. Florida may have the NFL Network to thank for his commitment. Chase was set to commit to TCU on the network recently, but another commitment ran long and Chase’s was put on hold. He began to look around and now has chosen Florida. He also had offers from, among others, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and LSU. That Chase is from New Orleans and an LSU target makes him a recruiting coup for Jim McElwain and his staff.

QB Matt Corral

The skinny: Corral (6-2, 196 pounds), from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, committed to Florida on Saturday. Corral, a five-star talent, is one of the top-two pro-style quarterbacks in the class and also is a top-25 recruit overall. The strong-armed Corral is the type of recruit that a class can be built around. Corral originally committed to USC before reopening his recruitment. He also had offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and UCLA.

G Curtis Dunlap

The skinny: Dunlap (6-4, 368 pounds), originally from Jacksonville, attends Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. He committed to Florida on July 18. He is a four-star recruit who is one of the top-10 guards in the country and is a top-225 recruit overall. He fills a position of need, and more important, he is the Gators’ first-ever commitment from IMG, which quickly has become a prospect factory. Dunlap chose Florida over offers from Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami and others.

TE Dante Lang

The skinny: Lang (6-5, 220 pounds), from Boca Raton (Fla.) High, committed to Florida on July 21. Lang, a three-star prospect who also plays defensive end in high school, had more than 20 offers nationally. His athleticism and frame give him a high ceiling. Among his other offers were those from Georgia, Louisville, LSU and North Carolina.

TE Kyle Pitts

The skinny: Pitts (6-5, 235 pounds), from Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood in the Philadelphia suburbs, committed to the Gators on July 20. A four-star talent, Pitts is among the top 15 tight end recruits nationally and a top-275 overall talent. Pitts has excellent speed and is one of the best receiving tight ends in the class. He also had offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

S Randy Russell

The skinny: Russell (5-11, 180 pounds), from Miami Carol City, committed to Florida on Saturday. A three-star recruit, Russell was at one time committed to Miami, but decommitted from the Hurricanes on June 6. Russell chose the Gators over offers from Louisville, Miami, Michigan, UCLA and Virginia Tech. While he lacks ideal size, Russell is a big hitter who runs well.

With these six pledges, UF’s class now stands at 13 commitments. Eight of the 13 are Florida high schoolers, and the one junior college commitment is a Florida native as well.
