Gene Deckerhoff, the voice of the Florida State Seminoles, joined 1010 XL Jax Sports Radio’s Rick Ballou and Joe Cowart during ACC Kickoff. Deckerhoff discussed the Seminoles’ season opener against Alabama, which he thinks could be a big one.

“I think it was Gary Stokan who runs the Chick-fil-A Bowl that said, ‘We’re calling it the G.O.A.T. game,'” Deckerhoff said. “You know, I saw that expression on a tweet somewhere and I said, ‘What in the world are they talking about?’ Not about our game but just the greatest of all time. I said, ‘What does that mean?’ Greatest of all time. Goat.

“It’s got the makings, I’ll tell you this, Alabama-Florida State. Now if Florida State should be in the preseason polls at No. 2, Alabama at No. 1, it would be the first time ever in the history of college football that one versus two would play on opening day. I’ve read that, heard that. Ohio State’s in the mix, in fact there’s one forecast that has Ohio State winning the whole thing. I don’t know. I think Alabama-Florida State at one and two sounds pretty good to me.”
