ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia’s run to the national championship game this past season benefited more than just the returning members of the team. Nearly every junior and senior from the 2017 squad improved his NFL draft stock, and there are sure to be numerous Bulldogs taken on the first two nights of the 2018 NFL draft.

Much will change between now and the draft in April, particularly once player measurables are officially recorded at the NFL Scouting Combine at the end of February, but here are early predictions on potential NFL landing spots for some highly rated Bulldogs.

Team: Oakland Raiders
Pick: 10th overall

The Raiders signed inside linebacker Navarro Bowman to a one-year deal last October, but Bowman turns 30 in May and there’s no guarantee he will be back for a second season with the team.

In Smith, the Raiders would land arguably the best talent at inside linebacker in the class and a centerpiece for a defense that lacks star power outside of defensive end Khalil Mack. Smith is also one of the speediest linebackers in this year’s draft class, so his selection would be a fitting homage to former Raiders owner Al Davis.
