Ouch. Georgia’s road to the College Football Playoff isn’t smooth anymore, and now the Bulldogs must avoid a second shock against Kentucky’s ground attack.
Fresh off last week’s beating at the hands of Auburn, which at least temporarily derailed the Bulldogs’ expected path to the playoff, Georgia must avoid a repeat of the miscues that doomed them on the Plains. Reviving the rushing game, which gained only 46 yards last week, wouldn’t hurt, either. Plus, they must slow Kentucky’s Benny Snell Jr., one of two SEC running backs to hit 1,000 yards this year. The other is Auburn’s Kerryon Johnson, and we all know what he did to the Bulldogs on Saturday.
The Bulldogs have dominated this series: 56-12-3 record, including wins in the past seven. The most recent Wildcats victory was 34-27 in 2009, the last season for former UK coach Rich Brooks.
