The highest-ranking uncommitted 2019 recruits in the SEC footprint

There are 28 five-star prospects at this point in the 2019 recruiting cycle, and 18 of them — 64 percent, or almost two-thirds — reside in the SEC footprint. Seven of those 18 already have committed, and six of those have picked SEC schools.

But there’s still a lot of talent out there, especially in the Southeast part of the country. Here’s a look at the 12 highest-rated uncommitted 2019 recruits (going by the 247Sports Composite rankings) from SEC states.

RB Noah Cain

The particulars: Cain (5 feet 11, 207 pounds) is a five-star prospect from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
The skinny: Cain, who originally is from the Dallas area, is a top-five running back and a top-30 prospect overall. Cain has more than 30 offers from around the country, including recent offers from Arkansas and Auburn from the SEC. There’s no doubt he’s a LSU priority; he attended LSU’s recent Junior Day, then the whole LSU offensive staff was at IMG on February 1 to check in on Cain. But Cain is one of the most dynamic backs in the country and will have his pick of schools.
