Now that Jacob Eason is officially moving on from Georgia, his successor is wishing his teammate the best in his future beyond Athens.

Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm extended warm wishes Sunday night on Twitter to Eason, who is transferring to Washington.

Eason, who joined Georgia as an elite recruit in the 2016 class, performed well during his freshman season but was injured in the first half of the Bulldogs’ 2017 season opener against Appalachian State.

That opened the door for freshman Fromm to take over, and by leading the Bulldogs to an SEC championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff final, he made the quarterback position his own.

Eason’s departure doesn’t mean the cupboard is bare. Five-star recruit Justin Fields already is enrolled and is expected to enter the 2018 season as the Bulldogs’ backup to Fromm.
