The Twitter fast is over for South Carolina’s Jake Bentley, and his first request: A stadium concert with one of the Gamecocks’ most high-profile backers.
Bentley tweeted to singer/noted South Carolina fan Darius Rucker on Wednesday morning, asking if the Gamecocks’ nine-win season and Outback Bowl victory might lead to a concert at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Hey @dariusrucker , if 6 wins got us a concert in CLA, does 9 wins get us a concert in Willy B?? 🤔

Rucker hasn’t yet responded, although he’s a die-hard Gamecocks fan and congratulated the team on Twitter after South Carolina’s victory over Michigan on Monday. He previously held a concert at the school in April after the Gamecocks’ six-win season in 2016.
I’m with ya man. Great win!! https://t.co/z2qSAiwSRo

Bentley led South Carolina from a second-half deficit for the victory in Tampa.
He had announced in July that he was taking a break from Twitter during the season, but now that the Gamecocks are finished for the year, it looks like he’s back in the Twittersphere.
