Former Vanderbilt and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Culter has finally found his new home.

Cutler’s wife, former “Laguna Beach” star Kristin Cavallari, confirmed plans to move from Chicago to Nashville in an interview with People magazine on Thursday.

“I have to say I’m kind of sad,” Cavallari said at the launch of her new jewelry line, Uncommon James, in West Hollywood. “My mom is in Chicago. I’ve made a lot of really good friends, so I definitely am sad.”

Cavallari first announced the news on Instagram last month. Cutler spent his college career in Nashville while playing at Vanderbilt from 2002-05 before beginning his NFL career with the Denver Broncos in 2006 and eventually joining the Bears in 2009.

Cavallari revealed that the couple bought their Nashville home several years ago, but prolonged the move before Cutler was cut by Chicago this offseason.

“Jay went to Vanderbilt (University), and actually the first weekend we ever hung out, we went to Nashville, and I fell in love with Nashville,” Cavallari said. “So we actually bought our house, I think we had been dating for a year — we had just gotten engaged — and so we’ve had our house for about six years, and this has just always been the plan.”

Cutler remains a free agent. His agent, Bus Cook, refuted reports about his retirement earlier this week telling ESPN that his client “is ready to play and wants to play.”

There is no word on whether the Tennessee Titans, who play in Nashville, have expressed interest in Cutler.
