Whether it’s football or hoops, if you’re an NCAA champion, there’s a good chance you play for Nick Saban, beat Nick Saban or want to meet Nick Saban.

Exhibit A: North Carolina basketball guard Joel Berry II, who was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.

Two weeks after winning an NCAA championship with the Tar Heels, defeating Gonzaga to win the program’s sixth national championship, Berry has one more item on his agenda: Meeting the Crimson Tide’s coach.

And Alabama responded via Twitter.

Berry, a junior guard from Orlando, became the first player since UCLA’s Bill Walton (1972-73) to score 20 points in consecutive national championship games – a nice feat.

Of course, he’s only won one national championship – Saban has five football titles (one at LSU and four at Alabama).
