Is Alabama’s loss in recruiting going to be Texas A&M’s gain? It will if Johnny Manziel has anything to say about it.
Manziel, who won the 2012 Heisman Trophy as the Aggies’ quarterback, sent a tweet Wednesday night to five-star running back Trey Sanders, who decommitted from Alabama on January 1.
Sanders reported that he had received an offer from Texas A&M.

That prompted this response from Manziel.

New Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher likely won’t mind the assistance from Manziel if it helps land Sanders. At 5 feet 11 and 216 pounds from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, Sanders is listed as the third-ranked 2019 running back in the 247Sports composite. He originally is from Port St. Joe, Fla., in the state’s Panhandle.
Although Sanders has decommitted from the Crimson Tide, Alabama remains in the mix, so there’s still a possibility that he will end up in Tuscaloosa. But if he chooses College Station instead, A&M fans will have one more reason to send their thanks in Johnny Football’s direction.
