It’s been a while since Kentucky reached a bowl game, so when that happens – like this past season – it’s celebration time in Lexington.
After the program’s most successful season this decade, Kentucky players received their bowl rings Tuesday morning.

Last year, the Wildcats remained in contention for the SEC East title until the season’s final weeks, earning a berth in the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville.
In addition to the obvious blue UK logo in the middle, the rings also include the logo of the TaxSlayer Bowl, a “GO BIG BLUE” message and the name of coach Mark Stoops.
Oh, and also a reference to the Governor’s Cup, which Kentucky won by defeating Louisville 41-38 in the regular-season finale, outscoring Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson in the process. The Wildcats didn’t want to let the Cardinals forget that one.
