Four-star defensive tackle Keondre Coburn, one of the top 10 players at his position in the 2018 recruiting class, says he is beginning to narrow down his list.
“I have a lot of favorites, but I’m hoping to release the top 10 that I like on my birthday, which is next Tuesday,” Coburn told GN. “I like Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Michigan, Penn State, UCLA, Alabama, LSU and schools like that.”
Coburn (6 feet 1, 329 pounds), from Houston Westfield, is one of the top-100 overall prospects in the class. He said he plans on making his decision public around the first part of September.
“It’s a blessing every day,” Coburn said regarding his high national ranking. “It’s just amazing to me to wake up every day knowing I’m one of the best in the country. It shows that hard work pays off.”
Coburn describes his game as that of a player who never gives up.
“I’m a defensive tackle that doesn’t quit,” he said. “You got some guys that if they see somebody running for a touchdown, they will just stop and just sit there and watch. I’m the type of player that will run to the ball.
“I’m a physical defensive tackle that never gives up and I can split double teams like it’s nothing. I just want to win — that’s all there is.”
