Hey, who’s the new guy? 8 key SEC transfers to watch in the 2017 season

The old saying is still true: You can’t tell the players without a scorecard, particularly in the age of the graduate transfer.

Gridiron Now looks at eight SEC transfers fans will notice during the 2017 season. The transfers come in all forms — grad transfers, “normal” transfers who sat out a season and junior college transfers.

The players are listed alphabetically. At the end, there’s a short look at six transfers who could play big roles this fall.

WILSON BELL, by Mitch White/FSU athletics

Auburn G Wilson Bell

Old school: Florida State.
The skinny: The Tigers’ offensive front is getting a boost with the arrival of Bell, a grad transfer who started in 2015 for the Seminoles and brings size (6-foot-5, 320 pounds) and the technique that’s made him a potential NFL draft choice. Bell, who is an Alabama native, could start at guard; he also could end up as a backup. Regardless, Bell should make life more comfortable for new QB Jarrett Stidham and RBs Kamryn Pettway and Kerryon Johnson.
