LOOK: Georgia’s massive new video board taking shape at Sanford Stadium

Sanford Stadium

Well, that’s big.

In a photo posted on the “Athens 30606 ‘The Classic City’s'” Facebook page you can see how much larger the Bulldogs new video board in the west endzone of Sanford Stadium will be. The previous board can be seen at the bottom; it is the area with a panelled front.

All the better to see the Dawgs with.

The new video board is expected to be completed and ready for action for Georgia’s G-Day spring football game April 21st, a game which will be nationally televised by ESPN. The video board is just one part of a larger, $63 million expansion/renovation of the stadium’s west endzone which also includes new upper and lower level plazas, a new recruiting lounge, a new home locker room, improved restroom and concession areas and much more.

While massive, the board is not the largest in college football. That designation belongs to Auburn’s 190×57 foot board.

The entire west endzone project should be completed for the start of the 2018 season.
