College football’s king troll is at it again.
Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin was a guest Thursday on “Off the Bench” on 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge. He was asked about the 2014 LSU-Alabama game in Tiger Stadium.
Kiffin was Alabama’s offensive coordinator then when the No. 5 Crimson Tide rallied for an overtime win against LSU.
“It’s because Tiger Stadium wasn’t loud enough,” he said. “We were able to whistle from the sidelines and audible to the pick play—I mean rub play, not pick play—to score down there in the endzone.”
After tying the game 13-13 on a field goal at the end of regulation, the Tide won it on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Blake Sims to DeAndrew White in overtime. It was Alabama’s fourth consecutive win in the series, a streak which has now reached seven straight for Bama.
“C’mon Tiger fans. You gotta be a little louder,” he needled. “I thought it was supposed to be loud there at night. Night games in Baton Rouge are supposed to be tough or something.”
LSU and Alabama meet in Death Valley this season on November 3.
Kiffin is entering his second season at FAU.
