The LSU Football Family would like to welcome our newest member Mike VII! Hold That Tiger!

Mike VII arrived last week and had to undergo a round of testing and a week of quarantine before being released into his habitat. He is an 11-month-old male Siberian-Bengal mix and arrived from the Wild at Heart Wildlife Center in Okeechobee, Fla. LSU has found its past three live mascots from similar facilities. LSU has not purchased a tiger since Mike III in 1958 and does not support the for-profit breeding of tigers.
LSU has had a live tiger mascot on campus since 1936.
LSU has announced that the new mascot will not be brought into Tiger Stadium on game days.
