ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. included two SEC standouts in his way-too-early “Big Board” rankings for the 2018 NFL draft on Thursday.
Alabama’s Minkah Fitzpatrick currently ranks third on the big board while Texas A&M’s Christian Kirk ranks fifth.
Kiper also included LSU’s Arden Key (No. 8) and Alabama’s Calvin Ridley (No. 9) in his top-10 rankings. Florida’s Antonio Callaway (No. 11), Alabama’s Ronnie Harrison (No. 13) and LSU’s Derrius Guice (No. 16) were also included in the overall rankings.
While these rankings are subject to change, they provide an early glimpse at what’s sure to be another successful representation by the SEC in the NFL draft.
This year, the conference extended its streak of most players selected to 11 consecutive years with 53 players selected, including nine in the first-round beginning with No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett.
