9 SEC players go in first round of mock NFL draft

We are five weeks away from the NFL draft and another mock draft is out on NFL.com, this one from Charles Davis.

Davis, a former Tennessee safety, has nine SEC players being selected in the first round of the mock draft.

The nine:

2. LT Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss — Cleveland Browns
9. CB Vernon Hargreaves III, Florida — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
14. DT Jarran Reed, Alabama — Oakland Raiders
19. DT A’Shawn Robinson, Alabama — Buffalo Bills
20. OLB Leonard Floyd, Georgia — New York Jets
23. WR Laquon Treadwell, Ole Miss — Minnesota Vikings
27. ILB Reggie Ragland, Alabama — Green Bay Packers
29. DT Robert Nkemdiche, Ole Miss — Arizona Cardinals
30. G Germain Ifedi, Texas A&M — Carolina Panthers

He has Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey going first, to the Tennessee Titans. Ramsey would be going “home,” as he is from Nashville.

The schools with the most players projected in the first round in the NFL draft are Ohio State with five, Alabama and Ole Miss with three each and Clemson and Notre Dame with two each.

The SEC leads the way among the conferences in the first round. Davis has six players from the Big Ten, four each from the ACC and Pac-12 and three from the Big 12.
