It’s getting close to decision time for three-star safety Myles Mason, who has narrowed his list to a top five.
“As of right now, I have a top five of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State and LSU,” Mason told GN. “They are all high-caliber schools academically and as far as football. They all have a very positive vibe.”
Mason (6 feet 2, 185 pounds), from Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville in the Birmingham suburbs, is a top-10 prospect in Alabama and among the top-30 safeties in the nation in the 2018 recruiting class.
“I try to stay away from it, just so I can stay focused and keep trying to get better and better each and every day,” Mason said regarding his high ranking.
So how would Mason describe his game?

“I definitely think my speed and my versatility,” he said. “I think I’m a very physical player also.”
Despite being listed at safety by recruiting services, Mason says there is a chance he may switch positions in college.
“I still haven’t decided yet,” Mason said. “I’m leaning toward safety, but it will either be safety or wide receiver.”
Mason is having a good time with the recruiting process and says to expect a decision from him sooner rather than later.
“I’m enjoying it a lot, but it’s starting to get really busy and I’m starting to get a lot of pressure because I’m trying to make a decision soon,” he said. “I’d like to commit before my senior season starts.”
