Ole Miss hosting pro day “workouts” for fans as part of its “Year of the Fan”

This is either a great opportunity for Ole Miss fans to live out a dream experience or a surefire way for someone to get hurt. It’s probably both. On March 25th, Ole Miss will welcome fans to participate in a mock pro day workout inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Drills will include the 40-yard-dash, where the hamstrings and Achilles tendons of 40-year-old ex-athletes are sure to be tested, and vertical jump. There will also be challenges more befitting the current athletic prowess of some fans such a hot dog eating contest as well as a “tailgate set-up.”

There will be 10 stations in all for fans to participate in.

An important reminder from Ole Miss: “as recruitable prospects, students in grades 7-12 and non-Ole Miss college students may not participate in Fan Pro Day by NCAA rule.”

The Fan Pro Day is just one of numerous events being put on by Ole Miss as it has designated 2018 to be the “Year of the Fan.”  Other opportunities for Rebel fans to enjoy special access and experiences inside the athletic department throughout the year include the chance to try your hand at play-by-play broadcasting Rebel sports on radio, attempting to hit a 50-yard hole-in-one during a golf challenge at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, serving as an honorary coach for the Grove Bowl, throwing out the first pitch at baseball or softball games and much more.

Sounds fun.
