Ranking the 14 SEC games on the opening weekend of 2018 season

It’s Saturday, January 13, which means we’re 33 weeks away from the first weekend of the 2018 SEC football season.

The first weekend includes two truly standout games and a handful of other interesting games. (It also includes six games against FCS foes, with four of the league’s six new coaches able to ease into the season against an overmatched opponent.)

We’ve already looked at the 15 best games overall on the opening weekend of the 2018 season. And because it’s never too early to start game-planning for the fall, we’ve gone ahead and rated the 14 SEC games for you. After all, the season begins in 33 weeks and it will be here before you know it.

14. UT-Martin at Missouri

The skinny: This will be the first look at a presumably tweaked Mizzou offense with new coordinator Derek Dooley. QB Drew Lock returns after leading the nation — and setting an SEC single-season record — with 44 TD passes. UT-Martin has a cool nickname – Skyhawks – but in their past five games against SEC opponents, UTM has been outscored 298-108.
