Recent surge moves Auburn into top 20 of 2019 recruiting rankings

Owen Pappoe

On April 10, Auburn had only two commitments for its 2019 recruiting class. The Tigers have been on a roll since then and now have seven commitments, two of whom are considered to be among the top-325 overall recruits in the country.

Here is a look at the five prospects who have committed to Auburn over the past month.

Offensive Lineman Jakai Clark

The skinny: A three-star recruit, Clark is among the top-10 center prospects in the country for the class of 2019. Clark, who is currently the only 2019 commitment for Auburn along the offensive line, held offers from Boston College, Minnesota, Oregon State, West Virginia and others.

Cornerback Cordale Flott

Tight End Tyler Fromm

The particulars: Fromm, (6-feet-5, 225 pounds) from Warner Robbins, (GA.) High, committed to Tigers on May 5, 2018.

Linebacker Owen Pappoe

The particulars: Pappoe, (6-feet, 209 pounds) from Loganville, (GA.) Grayson, committed to the Tigers on May 1, 2018.

The skinny: A five-star talent, Pappoe is considered to be the No. 1 outside linebacker in the country for the 2019 class. A top-10 overall talent as well, Pappoe held over 40 offers from around the country, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and LSU. That Auburn was able to go into the state of Georgia and land a commitment from a talent like Pappoe was a huge recruiting win for the Tigers. Landing a player like Pappoe is a game-changer and should lead to good things down the line for this Tigers’ class.
