Less than 24 hours after losing wide receiver coach Dameyune Craig to LSU, Auburn reportedly has his replacement.
SI.com reports that Kodi Burns — like Craig, an Auburn alum — will be hired away from Arizona State to be the Tigers’ new receivers coach. Burns had been Arizona State’s running backs coach, though he had yet to coach a game for the Sun Devils. He was hired last month off the staff at Middle Tennessee State, where he had been the receivers coach.
Burns was a graduate assistant at Auburn in 2013, when the Tigers lost in the national championship game. He was the running backs coach at FCS member Samford in 2014 and was at MTSU this past season.
Burns was a four-yer letterman at Auburn. He initially was a quarterback to start his college career, but then made the move to receiver. He was part of the Tigers’ 2010 national title team.
