Reports: Vols add Stanford transfer QB Keller Chryst

According to a report from Fox Sports Radio in Knoxville, the University of Tennessee has received a commitment from Stanford graduate transfer quarterback Keller Chryst. CBS Sports along with other media outlets have additionally reported the news which Chryst seemed to verify on Twitter.

In three years at Stanford, Chryst saw action in 23 games, completing 160 of 289 passes for 1926 yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions. As a graduate transfer, Chryst, a former four-star recruit and Under Armour All-American from Palo Alto, CA, will be immediately eligible. He was the third-rated pro-style quarterback in the 2014 recruiting class.

The Vols quarterback job appears wide open this spring.

Quinten Dormady transferred out of the program this off-season leaving Jarrett Guarantano, who started six games, and Will McBride, who started one, as the only returners with playing experience.

The Vols signed one quarterback in their 2018 recruiting class, three-star JT Shrout, also from California.
