Can this recruiting cycle get any better for Kirby Smart and Georgia? With a seventh five-star recruit signing with the Bulldogs, the answer, incredibly, is yes.
Five-star cornerback Tyson Campbell made his decision official and signed with the Bulldogs on Wednesday, bringing another nationally coveted recruit to Athens.
Campbell, a 6-2.5, 180-pound corner from Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage, selected Georgia ahead of Alabama and Miami. For weeks, his recruitment looked likely to come down to the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide in a virtual rematch of the College Football Playoff final.
Campbell adds to a staggering recruiting bonanza for the Bulldogs, who already had six five-star prospects on board from the early signing period. He joins quarterback Justin Fields, running back Zamir White, offensive tackle Cade Mays, offensive guard Jamaree Salyer, defensive end Brenton Cox and outside linebacker Adam Anderson in a class that’s now a virtual lock to end number-one overall in the recruiting rankings.
